David Worlock joined Quayle Munro in 2015 as a Senior Adviser. David brings with him extensive experience in information marketplaces globally, including software and electronic publishing in educational, academic, business and professional information fields. He is currently Co-Chair of the Outsell Leadership Programs, the peer to peer network of information and publishing CEOs in Europe and the USA. In Asia Pacific David chairs the Business Information Industry Association, which he helped to establish in 2005.
Earlier in his career, David joined The Thomson Corporation in 1967 and subsequently worked in educational and academic publishing before managing Thomson's school-based publishing as Group Executive Publisher.
David then served as CEO of EUROLEX which launched one of the first commercial online services in Europe (acquired by RELX in 1985) and co-founded Book Data Ltd (now Nielsen Bookdata).
David has advised on projects for the European Commission, the Department of Trade and Industry, the British Library, QCA and the Soros Foundation. He was Chief Adviser to the House of Commons Select Committee investigation into Science publishing. Other public appointments include his work as a member of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information (Cabinet Office) and as the independent commercial representative on the Content Advisory Board (Department for Education and Skills). Non-Executive and advisory roles have included BNA (now BNA Bloomberg), Dorling Kindersley prior to its acquisition by Pearson, and as a senior adviser to Bridgepoint, which he left in 2015.
He holds a degree in History from the University of Cambridge.
